Que pasa peoples? Long time no entry. As time goes by, my entries in this journal are getting to be more and more infrequent. As a result, I am going to end it here. It doesn't make much sense to update multiple sites everytime there is a new development in my music, so I'll just be updating one. This may not be permanant - when I start performing again, there may be information and experiences I want to share that don't belong on the front page of the main site, but for now my xanga journaling is suspended indefinitely. Check out www.ahdchild.com for all the most current updates.

For those of you who have subscriptions to my xanga page and would like to continue to be notified by e-mail when updates occur, subscribe to my mailinglist at the bottom of the main site.

Before I go, I guess I'll leave you with an actual update on music. The album is progressing. I've learned that producing a full length album while working full time can be very hard for one person to do. Nevertheless, it will be done. In the meantime, its been a long time since I've released any music, so I added a new track to www.ahdchild.com. Check it out, and as always, let me know what you think. And speaking of contacting me, I've added my AIM screen name to the contact page of my site.

Thanks to all the people who have been reading and commenting, and hopefully you'll continue to do so on www.ahdchild.com. Don't forget to sign up for the mailing list and drop me a note in the guest book.

Heh, that last entry was kind of cryptic, huh? Sorry, I was a little excited. Now I'll tell you what big things are. I've finally purchased a domain name. no more piggybacking off of www.alittleleft.com. No more www.angelfire.come/some/long/address/ahdhcild. Now if you want to check me out on the web, its sweet and simple. www.ahdchild.com. What's there? I moved the old site over to the new server and I did a lot of revamping. It's a lot cleaner and a little more colorful. Of course a web site is no good without content, so with the opening of the new site, I am releasing a new song. Check out the site for more info, and as always, let me know what you think.

Big things are coming.

Tuesday, June 01, 2004

Wuddup peoples. Its been a long time, huh? Fortunately my negligence of Xanga did not coincide with a negligence of music. Much has happened since I last wrote. "The Left" seems to be broken up. Some of the members had other commitments - school, jobs, travel - so things seem to have kind of fizzled out. It's too bad, I think we had a really good thing, but its not an ideal world - everyone can't focus on their art all the time.

OK, so that's teh bad news first. Oh wait, there's more bad news. I had a major computer breakdown. I'm not sure exatly what happened, I just know that I came home and my hard drive was making a whistling sound and I couldn't get the computer to start. That was a scary moment, but luckily, all my recordings were on a seperate hard drive.

Alright, now we can get on to the good stuff. I got a new hard drive and I'm being more diligent about backing things up (kind of). I also took things a step farther. I added a proffesional soundcard to my setup - The E-mu 1212m. I haven't had it for very long yet, but its already helped make recording run much smoother for me. Next purchase on the agenda - a condensor mic.

The album - things are moving. Not much to report right now. Its going at a slow but steady pace.

Collaborations - much going on here. Last year, I got to work with MC Scorpion Rose for a short time before she left the country. Well, she's coming back this summer and we'll be working together some more. Hopefully I'll get some stuff ready for release. About a week ago I started working on a song with another female MC - Gypsy. Hopefully we should be done with that within 3 weeks. Enough of this hip-hop stuff, how about something on the rock/folk side? I recently started composing music for a song a friend of mine wrote. The original version he did definitely had a very folk sound to it. What I have so far has a kind of 80s electronica sound I think. The end product will have live bass and guitar, so we'll see what that will sound like.

Hmmm...is that everything? I guess its a lot of talk, but you haven't heard anything from me in a while. I'll remedy that soon. I have a few small releases coming up. More on that later...
